Our commitment to integrative healthcare projects
Historically, the Life Science Foundation has focused its efforts on the intersection of the material and spiritual world, particularly in relationship to human consciousness and the new sciences. Complementary Alternative Medicine (CAM) represents society’s best attempt to make practical use of these perspectives and to contribute to an integrative healthcare system. As people begin to take charge of their health care needs
and consider integrating CAM related therapies, it is important to provide
them with information about (1) what is available, (2) how to access
and assess the opportunities, and (3) evidence-based research results. The Taking Charge website features a variety of modules which answer common questions about Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM.). Among other things, each of these modules describes what the CAM modality is (for example, acupuncture), shares relevant evidence based research, and suggests where you can go for further information. Do you have questions about CAM you’d like answered? Visit http://lifesciencefoundation.org/cmtaking.html Taking Charge is a comprehensive self-education website designed to help you create a lifestyle which supports health and wellbeing. You will also find tips on navigating the complexities of the health care system, inspirational stories, and advice from experts.
