What is new science?

Intuition is a mental process that integrates feeling and impression with facts and logic. Operating on a level different than instinct, it is part of the creative process that distinguishes human thought. Scientists, philosophers, and other thinkers have always used their intuition to develop their ideas and theories. In a relaxed mood while walking his child in a public park, Einstein conceived of his theory of special relativity. The inventor Nikola Tesla saw pictures of his alternating current electrical system in visions and dreams before he set them down on paper.

Intuition is only one-half of mental functioning, the other half being thought and logic. Primarily, intuition operates deductively from impressions, while logic operates inductively from known data bases. Logic and thought dominate today’s ideas about the use of the brain and mind. Few people regard intuition as equal to logical thought, and yet modern theories of the brain are based on the functioning of two equal hemispheres. One of the brain’s hemispheres produces logical expressions such as language and math, and the other produces emotional expressions such as music and art. While perhaps only a few people would agree, it seems obvious that intuition is similar to art and music, and that it too is a product of one’s emotions and feelings.

Using intuition requires a heightened sense of awareness, and the ability to use the subtle senses. Intuition uses the mind’s ability to sense the nature of things, while logic uses thought and the ability to analyze to know the nature of things. When intuition functions, the imperative of hard facts and knowledge gives way to a variety of impressions of the essence of things; their symbolic natures.

Intuitive science is the application of intuition to the development of new scientific ideas and theories. By focusing on science and technology, an individual’s intuition may acquire the basic ideas and impressions of a new scientific theory, or the design of a new device. The person then uses their logical powers to analyze the ideas and impressions, and the synthesis is the creation of something new.

One of the foundation’s main activities is to explore how thought and intuition function to create new ideas and new products, and another is to see what mental processes are involved in thought and intuition. One of the first things that was discovered about intuition and thought was that they operate on levels, and tap into sources of information particular to that level. Intuition does not just use information that individuals have acquired as a result of their personal experiences or those of others. Intuition also is able to use information that resides outside individuals, and has its roots in sources that are universal in nature.

One of the levels that intuition operates on is the emotional. On this level intuition processes information from emotionally related events, and gives it to the person as feelings and inclinations. Emotionally based intuition occurs in everyone because emotions are part of the normal functioning of all living things.

The level of intuition above emotion functions with thought to create science, art, literature, philosophy, etc. It is the study of this type of intuition, and the thought and mental processes that accompany it, that is the main focus and concern of the Life Science Foundation. Anything that is new scientifically is created through intuition and logic. When working on a theory, information and ideas that are outside the individual interact with those that individuals develop on their own. The result is a synthesis into a new set of ideas, concepts, math, diagrams, etc., that contribute to the theory and move it towards completion.

Intuition is a powerful tool for developing new ideas because it combines visual images with mental impressions. The ability to interpret and use language to express what is perceived as impressions is critical to the success of the intuitive process. Whatever is felt, seen, or perceived by intuition is expressed through language. Individuals may be very intuitive but lacking in the ability to express themselves logically, or they may be very logical but not particularly intuitive. In any case, people with a balance between intuition and logic will have the best chance of expressing what they have perceived through intuition.

Comprehension of the process of intuition and other mental processes still is beyond the reach of medical sciences such as neurology, and outside the purview of mainstream psychology. One must move into subjects beyond conventional academia to understand how intuition and other unknown mental processes function. All of the subjects under the general heading of "psychic" are examples of these processes. With such a lack of understanding of how brain chemistry produces even simple thoughts, not to mention intuitively based thoughts, it will be more fruitful to give examples of what these processes can produce than to try to describe them.
